Berenberg supports equities growth with hiring spree

Investment bank Berenberg said it has made over 30 new hires this year to support growth of its European and US equities business.

Investment bank Berenberg said it has made over 30 new hires this year to support growth of its European and US equities business.

Major appointments include Chris Bowman, who joined Berenberg from Liberium and will be a senior UK corporate broker, focusing on supporting UK IPOs.

Equity sales has been beefed up with the appointment of Alexandra Clement, formerly of FincCap, who will focus on UK small-caps. Victoria Maigrot joins from Blackrock working in consumer specialist sales. Berenberg has also made several hires across its Nordic, Benelux and French sales teams.

European equity research has seen twelve new hires, including Simon Toennessen, Alessandro Abate and Charlotte Keyworth from Credit Suisse, JP Morgan and Canaccord Genuity respectively.
