US-based institutional broker Concept Capital has appointed Patrick J. Gallagher, former founding partner of BDR Research, to its capital markets division as head of institutional sales.

In his new role, Gallagher will focus on developing a research sales force along with assisting senior management in identifying additional proprietary research products for Concept's institutional clients.

Gallagher has over 17 years of institutional equity experience, having started in sales at US-based securities firm Kidder Peabody &Co. He was also director of institutional sales at New Vernon Associates prior to becoming founder, senior partner and director of institutional sales at BDR Research.

“Concept Capital is delighted to have a person of Patrick's expertise, insight and knowledge working with our experienced professionals and will add tremendous value to our client base,” said Robert E. Moore, senior managing director of Concept Capital and head of capital markets.
