JonesTrading has hired six new staff to its equity trading team to bolster its high-touch service.

The roles will be spread across its Cos Cob and Southampton offices and adds to its existing single stock and program trading capabilities.

In Cos Cob, Todd Trimmer and Doug Rivelli both join as managing directors. Trimmer was previously co-CEO of Weeden & Co and head of equities at Guggenheim Partners. Rivelli was head of program trading at Weeden & Co and CEO of Pragma Securities.

They will be joined by two other former Weeden colleagues, Jack Duffy and Gary Zegras.

Chip Renkowski and Bryan Klopfer will join the Southampton office. They both spent over 16 years in sales trading at KCG Holdings and briefly worked at Auerback Grayson.

JonesTrading’s CEO, Alan Hill, said: “As our competition reduce their trading desks, our model of building relationships and providing our clients with trading expertise has proven to be of value to both the industry and our clients. Our ongoing recruitment efforts continue to bring results in building our franchise.”
