BNY Mellon poaches UniCredit’s global head of eFX

Jeff Leal joins BNY Mellon Markets to head up eFX business.

BNY Mellon Markets has hired the former global head of electronic markets for FX at Unicredit to head up its eFX business.

Jeff Leal assumed the position of global head of eFX at BNY Mellon Markets in January this year, a spokesperson confirmed.

He previously held the same position at UniCredit and was head of FX e-trading at Nomura in 2010, before being promoted to global head of FX e-trading.

Leal departed Nomura in 2014 and worked as an independent eFX consultant before joining the FX team at UniCredit.

BNY Mellon Markets said his leadership and skills in quantitative modelling and algorithm execution will be key to enhancing its client offering.
