Old Mutual head of rates desk departs

Russ Oxley has left the asset manager due to disagreements over strategy.

Old Mutual Global Investors head of rates & LDI, Russ Oxley, has left the asset manager with immediate effect, due to a conflict over “strategic direction”.

According to a statement from the Old Mutual Global Investors, it stated his departure was “a consequence of a difference in opinion regarding future strategic direction.

“Old Mutual Global Investors would like to thank Russ for his valuable contribution in supporting the launch of the ARGB capability.”

Oxley joined Old Mutual Global Investors in 2015 with his team from Ignis and launched the ARGB fund, which currently holds almost £450 million in assets under management.

His departure marks a reshuffle for Old Mutual, with Adam Purzitsky and Paul Shanata appointed as co-heads of the absolute return government bond (ARGB) team.
