Fonetic appoints RegTech expert as director ahead of MiFID II

CEO at VoxSmart, Oliver Blower, joins Fonetic as non-executive director.

Fonetic has announced the appointment of the CEO at VoxSmart as a non-executive director ahead of MiFID II regulation.

Oliver Blower will support the development of Fonetic’s business in the surveillance and compliance sector, using his previous experience at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he established its European Derivatives Clearing and Regulatory Reform business.

Fonetic works with investment banks to manage the flow of communications and orders and trades into a single platform.

Blower is currently chief executive officer at VoxSmart, a telecommunications technology company in the RegTech space.

He explained that with the MiFID II deadline on the horizon, “we anticipate that most major global banks will look to evaluate and modify their current trade floor infrastructure, in response to pressure from regulators to meet trade recording and reporting requirements.”

Founder and CEO at Fonetic, Juan Manuel, added Blower’s appointment “will prove instrumental in helping our current and future customers adjust to and adopt next year’s MiFID II regulation requirements.”
