Thomson Reuters develops quant tool for buy-side

New tool powered by Elsen offers buy-side access to quantitative analysis for making investment decisions.

Thomson Reuters has launched a new tool to help asset managers use quantitative methods when making investing decisions.

QA Point provides the buy-side with quantitative analysis with a point-and-click interface and access to Thomson Reuters’ content.

Users will gain access to a range of statistical measures, strategy analysis tools, built-in factor testing tools, and data visualisation to speed up the time it takes to back test new models.

It was developed to increase productivity, produce better results and accelerate the collaboration between investment professionals, Thomson Reuters said.

The tool is powered by Elsen, which offers a platform for financial institutions to build web-based applications.

Pradeep Menon, managing director, global head of advisory and investment management at Thomson Reuters, explained asset managers need cost-effective, transparent tools to drive collaboration through the investment process.

“QA Point gives asset managers tools that were typically only possible with highly skilled developers and quantitative analysts, enabling them to take advantage of investment techniques that help deliver results for their clients,” he said.
