Liquidnet taps Deutsche Bank for technology head

With 16 years experience, Patrick Strobel joins Liquidnet from Deutsche Bank and has also worked at JP Morgan.

A former technology veteran from Deutsche Bank has departed to join Liquidnet as head of technology for the EMEA region.

Patrick Strobel has been tasked with building out Liquidnet’s IT architecture, in particular its Virtual High Touch MiFID II service.

Mark Pumfrey, head of Liquidnet EMEA, explained following the firm’s recent acquisition of OTAS Technologies and the continuing rollout of Virtual High Touch in EMEA, the newest member of the team “will be instrumental in delivering these solutions to our global membership”.

Strobel has more than 16 years experience having worked at major investment banks like JP Morgan. Most recently at Deutsche Bank he was responsible for building out the P&L reporting platform and defining the technology strategy for the domain.

Prior to that, he headed up the development of Deutsche’s equity trading analytics capability including TCA, pre-trade analytics and alpha capture globally.

He will report to Bob Garret, the head of technology at Liquidnet, who is based in New York.

Commenting on his new role, Stobel said: “With MiFID II fast approaching, it’s especially important that we deliver the right tools and technology to support the changing roles of our members, both in and out of EMEA.”
