NEX taps Goldman Sachs for Optimisation commercial chief

Colin Murphy from Goldman Sachs has been appointed chief commercial officer of NEX Group’s Optimisation unit.

NEX Group has hired a former managing director at Goldman Sachs as chief commercial officer of its Optimisation business.

Colin Murphy will also head up sales of the regulatory reporting side of the business, which was launched in March.

He joins from Goldman Sachs where he was a managing director for securities lending and equities finance and headed up sales trading across equities and fixed income products.

Murphy will report to Jenny Knott, CEO of NEX Optimisation and will support Collin Coleman, head of NEX Regulatory Reporting.

Commenting on Murphy’s appointment, Knott said he will help NEX “deliver the NEX Regulatory Reporting solution to a wider range of financial services clients”.

NEX Optimisation bundled its services together earlier this year to launch a regulatory reporting platform, powered by Abide Financial, which it acquired in October last year.

Coleman explained at the time the new service will see clients benefit from “processing of large data volumes under multiple regulatory regimes and transparent delivery of final reports to regulators via a suite of in-house regulatory end points”.

Murphy joined NEX Group on 15 May this year.
