ResearchPool launches unbundling service ahead of MiFID II

TRUE platform allows investment firms to manage, consume and budget for research.

Investment research platform provider ResearchPool has developed a new service to allow firms to manage, budget, consume and evaluate research.

Tool for Research Usage and Evaluation, or TRUE, is a proprietary solution for investment companies to control research spending and usage by strategy, portfolio and provider.

TRUE is compliant with MiFID II and provides a single point to manage P&L or research payment accounts, including pre-funded accounts.

Pedro Fernandes, co-founder and CEO of ResearchPool, explained the platform simplifies the complexities of managing research in an unbundled world.

“By improving sourcing, spending and the valuation process for research, investment firms will be better aligned with the interests of their end-clients and raise the overall quality of the research offering efficiently” he said.

Earlier this year, ResearchPool connected to Instinet’s recently launched unbundling connectivity service.

The RQ Connect tool allows research procurement management systems to transfer research assessment data to Instinet’s research payment and commission management platform, Plazma.

In May, ResearchPool also teamed up with ADDFIN to expand its buy-side client base and combine their web-based information and transaction platform and investment research services.
