SocGen execution head makes Asia switch
Société Générale has created a new
position in Asia for one of its leading traders in a bid to beef up its cash
equities offering in the region. London-based Stephane Loiseau is to move to
Hong Kong as head of cash equities, Asia Pacific.
Loiseau
brings long-standing cash equities business experience and a strong
understanding of institutional clients to a region where bulge bracket and Asia
specialist SME brokers are faced with a variety of challenges, including low
liquidity in multiple jurisdictions.
While
growing the Asian business, Loiseau will maintain his current duties as deputy
global head of execution services.
For
global functions Loiseau reports to François Banneville, global head of
execution services and Peter McGahan, global head of cash equity sales. In
Asia, Loiseau reports to Timothee Bousser, head of global equity flow, Asia
Pacific.
As part
of his new duties, Loiseau has also been appointed to the non-executive board
of of Ji ASIA, SocGen's pan-Asian equity research and sales joint venture with
Japaninvest.
Loiseau
joined Societe Generale in 1996 as a trader on the international equities desk
in New York. He joined the French bank’s program trading division in
London for three years before moving back to New York in 2000 as co-head of
global program trading and electronic services in 2006.
