Interdealer broker Tradition has hired three senior executives to bolster its expansion drive in 2015.

John Wilson – previously a global head of OTC clearing at both Societe Generale-owned Newedge and the Royal Bank of Scotland – will join as managing director within the company’s Strategy and Business Development unit.

Wilson will have responsibility for all aspects of Tradition’s strategic, hybrid and electronic initiatives globally.

Wilson is a familiar figure in Europe, having previously been an industry representative on the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) proposals, among others.

The company also confirmed that Rob Mountain has been hired to lead the North American business development division of the company’s hybrid interest rate swaps trading platform, Trad-X.

Mountain previously held senior client service positions at both BGC Partners and State Street.

Dan Torrey joins the strategic development team having left EBS in July 2014, where he was head of sales for the Americas.  He has had six months preparing for the new role, according to his profile on social media site, LinkedIn. He will be involved in developing Tradition’s e-trading projects including its spot FX trading platform ParFX.

Speaking to The TRADE prior to the announcement, Roger Rutherford, chief operating officer of ParFX, said: “2015 is about chasing global participation and making sure we are involved in as many trading operations around the world as possible.”

In its statement to market, Dan Marcus, global head of strategy and business development at Tradition, said: “Understanding our customers’ needs, accompanied by the ability to innovate, has enabled us to succeed to date. We look forward to John, Dan and Rob playing keys roles in enhancing and growing our trading solutions across our entire client base.”
