RBC hires ex-Goldmans man to FICC electronic sales

RBC poaches Kaminsky from Goldmans’ troubled FICC business.

RBC Capital Markets has hired Stephen Kaminsky as vice president of FICC electronic sales at its New York office.

Kaminsky joins from Goldman Sachs where he held several roles since June 2011, including in futures and OTC clearing sales and most recently in electronic sales for interest rate products. He will report to Haider Ali, a director in its algorithmic trading business.

He will take up his position at RBC Capital Markets near the end of August, having left Goldman Sachs in June this year.

Goldmans’ FICC division has suffered in recent quarters, with its Q2 results revealing revenues in fixed income, currencies and commodities had fallen 40% year-on-year.

Kaminsky graduated from Bucknell University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics.
