Ex-Citadel Securities head trader joins BTIG

BTIG announces appointment of Chris Amato as head of ADR conversion trading.

BTIG has expanded its international equities capabilities with the appointment of Citadel Securities former head of trading.

Chris Amato, former head of trading at Citadel Securities, has joined as head of ADR conversion trading.

He will be responsible for building out the trading desk, which has recently undergone a revamp with a new electronic platform and an expanded high-touch solution.

Richard Jacklin, managing director and head of international equities at BTIG, explained Amato will play a “pivotal role in strengthening our ADR conversion capabilities.”

“Expanding the firm’s ADR offering will broaden the expertise of our international trading group, a team that skilfully trades in multiple currencies and markets worldwide,” he added.

Amato has over 20 years experience as an ADR professional and prior to joining Citadel Securities, he was director of international market making at E*Trade Capital Markets.

Anton LeRoy, chief operating officer at BTIG, said Amato’s experience will allow him to “enhance our ability to identify valuable liquidity in ADRs”.

“An automated ADR conversion trading platform, coupled with a more robust high-touch ADR trading team, better equips BTIG to meet clients’ requirements in markets around the globe,” he added.
