Trading technology and connectivity provider Fidessa is offering faster access to Korea’s equities and derivatives markets via a linkage to Koscom’s PowerBase NFS, a new high-speed interface to the Korean Exchange (KRX).

According to Fidessa, its new NFS gateway provides high-speed market access to KRX that reduces order processing times by 98% and increases throughput by around 200%.

Koscom is a major financial services technology provider in Korea that built both KRX’s equities trading platform and its futures and options system.

“This development will open up new opportunities on the Korean exchange for all traders, but will be especially key for those with a low-touch approach,” said David Jenkins, business solutions manager for Fidessa in Asia-Pacific. “The gateway will help accelerate the take-up of algorithmic trading in the Korean markets and provide opportunities for new trading strategies.”
