Agency brokerage house Instinet has launched a new implementation shortfall algorithm. Called Wizard PRO (Portfolio Risk Optimizer), it aims to optimize a portfolio’s trading schedule based on the correlations and natural hedges that exist among the component stocks.

FutureTrade, a provider of multi-asset and algorithmic trading services, has announced that it has achieved record revenues and volumes in 2006, continuing a 4-year trend. The firm's US equities trading volumes grew by 25%.
Eurex, the derivatives exchange operated by Deutsche Borse, is to launch an incentive program designed to increase the volumes of proprietary and algorithmic trading done by its clients. Due to be launched on 1 February 2007, the program will include volume discounts for exchange-based transactions in key Eurex product groups.
