ASEAN Exchanges launch trio of tradable Southeast Asian indices

ASEAN Exchanges has collaborated with FTSE to expand its series of indices that cover the Southeast Asia region.

ASEAN Exchanges, a joint venture between Asia’s stock exchanges, has collaborated with FTSE to expand its series of indices that cover the Southeast Asia region. They have launched three new tradable ASEAN indices, the ‘FTSE ASEAN All-Share Index’, ‘FTSE ASEAN Stars Index’ and ‘FTSE ASEAN All Share Ex-Developed Index’.   

The FTSE ASEAN All-Share Index is the broad benchmark which represents 90-95% of the investable market capitalisation in the region.  It now includes Vietnam within the constituent markets, that also cover Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.

The FTSE ASEAN Stars Index is a new index of 180 stocks which comprise of the thirty companies considered to be the most exciting within each ASEAN country as ranked by investability in terms of market capitalisation and liquidity.  

The FTSE ASEAN All-Share Ex-Developed Index consists of the constituents of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia EMAS Index, FTSE ASEAN Indonesia All-Share Index, the FTSE ASEAN Philippines All-Share Index, the FTSE SET All-Share Index and the FTSE ASEAN Vietnam All-Share Index.
