Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank, has launched a new tool that offers clients real-time analysis of equities trading performance.

The analytics tool, called Portfolio WebBench Live, has been designed to provide traders with real-time execution monitoring and session sharing capabilities, allowing users to share data online. The tool is based on Portfolio WebBench, the investment bank's execution analytics toolkit for equity portfolios.

With the tool, clients should be able to monitor the performance of single stock and portfolio executions, measure performance against user-defined benchmarks and analyse slippage and individual execution venue breakdowns. The use of real-time transaction cost analysis tools continues to rise as buy-side traders look to enhance execution performance monitoring and adjust trading strategies as they are run.

“In dynamic markets, execution performance and cost are increasingly important considerations; Portfolio WebBench Live can enhance trading transparency for clients, giving them insights that will allow them to optimise their execution, and pinpoint and react to risk as their transactions unfold,” said Brian Pomraning, head of equity analytics applications at Barclays Capital.

Portfolio WebBench Live is available via Barclays Capital Live, the firm's web-based client portal, which affords clients access to analytical tools such as historical and derived market data, yield curves and quantitative models.
