Sanford C. Bernstein, the agency brokerage unit of investment services firm AllianceBernstein, has announced that Toby Bayliss and Jason Doyle have been appointed co-heads of European equity trading.
Bayliss joined the firm as head of electronic and program trading in September 2008, having previously worked on the program and sales trading desk at investment bank Citi. Before joining Bernstein in 2005 as part of its cash sales trading on continental accounts and hedge fund unit, Doyle worked as a director on the sales trading team at broker Merrill Lynch.
“Toby and Jason will be responsible for the direction and success of the European trading offering,” commented Tom Wright, Bernstein's global head of trading. “This leadership structure will provide continuity and will complement Bernstein’s continued excellence in research and sales within the region.”
