Credit Suisse has appointed Michael Mollemans as head of Advanced Execution Services (AES) for Japan.

Based in Tokyo, Mollemans will report to Hani Shalabi, head of AES for Asia Pacific and locally to Martin Keeble, head of equities for Japan. He joins Credit Suisse as a director.

Mollemans was previously head of electronic trading sales at Japanese investment bank Daiwa Capital Markets in New York. He has previous experience in Japan, having worked in Tokyo for Credit Lyonnais Securities between 2000 and 2002.

“Michael's technical skills and experience with US clients investing in Japan will be very complementary to the AES team already on the ground in Tokyo,” said Shalabi.

Credit Suisse was the first broker to launch a crossing network in Japan when Crossfinder went live in 2005. The bank launched its Pathfinder smart order router in Japan in 2009. Credit Suisse recently made 11 appointments in its Indian investment bank, across its equities, fixed income and investment banking sections.
