Currenex hires Tomas Zikas from Trayport to head drive into new asset classes

Currenex, the foreign exchange trading platform acquired recently by State Street, says Tomas Zikas has taken the role of Managing Director of New Business Development. His task is to expand the reach of Currenex's business into additional asset classes.

Currenex, the foreign exchange trading platform acquired recently by State Street, says Tomas Zikas has taken the role of Managing Director of New Business Development. His task is to expand the reach of Currenex’s business into additional asset classes.

Zikas spent four years as Global Head of Sales at Trayport Ltd. where he provided matching engine and front-end technology for real-time, continuous trading across multiple asset classes in Europe, the Americas and Asia.

Previously, Zikas was Managing Director of the OTC commodity exchange Houston Street Exchange Ltd in London, facilitating trading in newly deregulated European electricity contracts. “Tom will be vital in working with existing clients and new prospects who can utilize our superior trading technology to move into new areas of business,” says Clifford M. Lewis, Chairman and CEO of Currenex.
