Deutsche Bank Securities, the US division of Deutsche Bank, has appointed Jose Marques to lead its equity electronic trading division.

Marques will join the firm as managing director and head of equity electronic trading within Deutsche Bank’s Global Markets division. He will report jointly to Robert Karofsky, co-head of Global Markets equity, and Kerim Derhalli, global head of equity trading.

Marques be responsible for product development, distribution and marketing, technology, and the continued expansion of Deutsche Bank’s equity electronic trading platform.

He was previously a managing director in the alternative execution products group at Credit Suisse. He has also held positions at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs.

“We are delighted to welcome Jose and confident that he will spearhead our significant investment in electronic trading, building on our recent successes, as we strive to achieve a market-leading position in this rapidly evolving industry,” said Karofsky in a statement.
