German stock exchange group Deutsche Börse has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

The two parties have agreed to share extensive information relating to financial markets in Germany and China. This will include a comprehensive exchange of knowledge and opinions in business areas such as joint product development and distribution, development of new trading functions and sale of trading data.

The MoU is a further step from the German exchange to expand its business is Asia, following a similar deal with the Korean Stock Exchange in February. Deutsche Börse says it has been more active in China this year, organising road shows and IPO conferences with the aim of promoting stock exchange listings for local companies. The group has also outlined plans to open a representative office in Beijing in the near future.
