Pan-European multilateral trading facilities (MTFs) BATS Europe and Nasdaq OMX Europe have both expanded their connectivity.

Trading solutions provider Realtime Systems Group (RTS) has completed the testing required to establish a low-latency link to BATS Europe and data communications firm Transaction Network Services (TNS) has added Nasdaq OMX Europe to its secure trading extranet.

Following the connection with BATS Europe, RTS customers will be able to access the MTF using RTS’s Realtime Trading Desktop (RTD) product suite, which includes the RTD trading front-end and the RTD Tango automated algorithmic trading solution.

As a result of its connection to TNS’s extranet, Nasdaq OMX Europe will be available to TNS’s 1,500-strong financial community, which includes buy- and sell-side institutions, trading application providers, stock exchanges, electronic communications networks and alternative trading systems across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Existing and new users of the MTF will also be able to use TNS for connectivity under the terms of the agreement.

“Increasing the number of

alternative trading venues connected to our secure trading extranet gives our customers more choice when making trading decisions, while for Nasdaq OMX

Europe, linking to our network makes it easier for organisations to do business with it.” said John Owens, vice president of exchanges and ECNs for TNS’s financial services division, in a statement.
