London derivatives exchange Nasdaq OMX NLX has appointed Anthony Belchambers, Rob Banus and Andrew Chart as non-executive directors.

Belchambers, a barrister, is the former CEO of the Futures and Options Association, now know as FIA Europe, which represents 170 members. He is currently deputy chairman and co-founder of the Advisory Group to the European Parliamentary Financial Services Forum. He is also the founder and industry deputy chairman of the associate parliamentary group on wholesale financial markets and services.

“NLX has had a positive start and is bringing much needed competition to European derivatives during a period of significant change”, Anthony Belchambers, non-executive director, NLX, said. “With a considerable amount of regulatory and market structure change still to come, I hope to make a positive contribution to NLX’s growth and continued success.”

Banus, who is currently executive director at Nomura International, has also joined NLX. He has previously held senior positions at Dubai Mercantile Exchange, the Singapore Exchange and Barclays Capital.

Chart is a senior director, origination and structuring – prime clearing services at Newedge Group, and has held positions at Fimat International Banque SA and Man Financial.

”NLX is maturing as an exchange, with a good quality orderbook, sustained market share to build upon and significant pipeline of new participants joining”, Charlotte Crosswell, CEO of NLX, said.

“With the continued positive market structure developments in Europe, coupled with the ongoing growth and expansion of our market, now is the right time to expand the NLX board with directors that have strong knowledge and experience of all the vital facets of our market including regulation, trading and clearing.”
