The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) has appointed Stephan Wolf as its new chief executive officer.

He will join the Switzerland-based non-profit foundation from Interactive Data Managed Solutions, where he currently holds the position of chief technology officer and member of the executive board.

Wolf co-founded and managed IS Innovative Software and was also executive board spokesman for IS Teledata, until it was merged with Interactive Data and Wolf was promoted to CTO.

Gerard Hartsink, GLEIF Board Chair, says, “We had a large number of excellent candidates, but Stephan’s strong background, exceptional vision and energy impressed us and we are sure he is the right person to guide the GLEIF at this important stage.”

Wolf says: “I am very excited about this new challenge. Significant work has already taken place to define this vision of the Global Legal Entity Identifier System. Defining and developing the operations of the GLEIF is the next step in making that vision a reality. I am pleased to lead this development and contribute to this financial stability initiative.”

Hartsink will fulfill the role of CEO until Wolf assumes the position.
