Swap futures trading venue GMEX has appointed former DTCC DerivSERV chief executive Sandy Broderick as its chairman, while adding two more CEOs to it board.

Mark Blundell, former chief exec of valuation platform The Open Models Valuation Company, has been named chairman of the GDI Index Oversight Committee.  Lamon Rutten, managing director and CEO of the Multi Commodity Exchange of India has become chairman of GMEX TECH.

GMEX’s business is split up into three segments, the swap futures venue, tech platform and global indices business. Hirander Misra, one of the founding members of Chi-X operates as CEO.

Broderick brings 25 years of derivatives experience in trading and post-trade infrastructure to the soon-to-be-launched swap futures venture.

He also worked as head of GBP derivatives and bond trading at Societe Generale for 14 years before DTCC.

“Sandy Broderick’s appointment to our Boards joining Lamon Rutten is great news as it helps ensure we have added to existing high standards of governance and expertise as the various group businesses continue to grow,” said Misra.

The platform is due to launch in Q2 this year.
