The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) offers two market data products. MarketSource provides real-time information from ASX’s trading and information systems, covering price, volume, market depth and full order book detail for all ASX-operated markets and OTC transactions reported to ASX.

It’s ReferenencePoint service provides information on ASX issuers, securities, derivatives and corporate actions, designed specifically for use in broking operations from front- to back-office, to ensure receipt of the same information used by our trading, clearing and settlement systems throughout the trading day.


ReferencePoint operates a usage-based licence model
while MarketSource pricing is subject to a licence fee.


ASX provides access to exchange data largely in its
raw format, while customisable offerings and data product sub-sets are
available via third-party data re-sellers.



Market activity and broker trade reporting is


ASX aggregates price data across its exchange
trading facilities within the end-of-day price summary.



ASX market data is offered at low-latency and on a
fully managed fibre domestic and global network, and through the ASX Australian
Liquidity Centre co-location facility. The firm’s secure web B2B portal
delivers its reference data.

ASX delivers full trading and market data functionality
through its native API, and supports sophisticated, ultra-low latency protocols
such as ITCH and OUCH. The firm’s variety of formats and delivery channels
enable STP.

Future plans

ASX will continue to invest in its technology and
product ranges to support the quality and content of its market data services.
This entails providing deeper and broader data, at substantially faster rates.
