ICI Global appoints new steering committee chair

International fund trade association ICI Global has appointed Robert Higginbotham, head of global investment services at investment manager T. Rowe Price, as the new chair of its steering committee.

ICI Global, a trade body for global investment funds, has appointed Robert Higginbotham, head of global investment services at asset manager T. Rowe Price, as the new chair of its steering committee.

Higginbotham will drive ICI Global’s agenda and policy focus, addressing key industry issues for the organisation’s members, including trading and market structure, shadow banking and regulation. He succeeds Jamie Broderick, CEO for wealth management, UK and Jersey, for UBS.

Prior to joining T. Rowe Price, Higginbotham was CEO for EMEA and Latin America at Fidelity Worldwide Investment and held a variety of executive roles at Schroder Investment Management.

“Robert’s leadership and experience are ideal for the organisation as we evolve into a larger entity spanning Europe, Asia, and the Americas,” Dan Waters, managing director, ICI Global said. “He has deep roots in the world of global investment management and understands the exceptional and urgent regulatory challenges fund managers and investors face.”

ICI Global is the international, London-based arm of US investment manager trade body Investment Company Institute, and was established in 2011. It focuses on regulatory and market issues for global investment funds, their managers, and investors.
