Atrium Network, a financial connectivity provider, has added agency brokerage Instinet Europe to its extranet community, granting the broker low-latency connectivity to multilateral trading facilities and exchanges across Europe.
According to Atrium, using its network will allow Instinet to reduce co-location costs and mitigate the risk and cost of establishing connections to MTFs that later fail.
“We offer clients a single point of access to exchanges, clearing houses, CSDs and market data providers in an effort to help them simplify their connectivity,” said Emmanuel Carjat, CEO, Atrium Network, in a statement. “As new MTFs come to market, participants may commit significant capital investment to co-locate at every MTF venue. Atrium Network’s ‘Exchange Ring’ will provide ultra-low-latency, dark-fibre connectivity to all available MTFs and exchanges.”
Richard Balarkas, chief executive officer of Instinet Europe, added, “Instinet Europe’s strategy is to connect to every accessible liquidity venue to enable us to take advantage of the execution opportunities available for our clients. Speed is of the essence in this environment and we are continually seeking ways to help our clients.”
