As part of the continued development of its equities division, US investment bank Jefferies has appointed Allan Heye as a managing director in portfolio sales trading. He is based in the firm's London office.

“Allan's considerable experience in institutional electronic trading, along with his superior client relationships and product expertise, make him a valuable addition to our group,” said John Bajus, head of international electronic trading services in Jefferies' equities division.

“The addition of Allan Heye is consistent with our commitment to becoming a global leader in electronic trading solutions, as we continue to expand and globalise our client offering and leverage our international distribution platform,” added Dan Charney, global head of electronic trading services at Jefferies.

Jefferies' global equities group consists of more than 700 sales, trading and research professionals globally, including nearly 150 in London.

The firm offers sales and trading services in a range of equity products, including cash equities, electronic trading, equity derivatives, exchange traded funds, convertibles, prime brokerage and securities finance.

Heye joins Jefferies after 14 years with broker Credit Suisse, where he was a director in portfolio trading sales. Previously, he was co-head of Matif trading at broker BZW Paris and head of German-listed derivatives trading at BZW Frankfurt.

He received a BA in economics from the University of North Carolina.

Jefferies' global equity team has made a number of hires over the last 12 months, with six new sales and trading staff appointed to the Hong Kong office on 11 April and Zubin Ramdarshan named managing director and head of European volatility trading for its London equity derivatives team in February.
