Clearing house LCH Clearnet Group has appointed Ian Axe as chief executive of both the group and its UK-based subsidiary, LCH Clearnet.
Axe joins from Barclays Capital where he was most recently global head of operations and COO EMEA. He replaces Roger Liddell, who had been chief executive since July 2006.
Prior to joining LCH Clearnet, Axe has 17 years of broad experience in the financial sector. Before 2002, he worked for management and technology consultancy Booz Allen Hamilton, where he was a principal in the financial services practice.
Axe is expected to take up his role at LCH Clearnet in April 2011.
