Macquarie Securities has appointed Brandon Krieg as managing director and head of electronic execution in the US and Europe.

Krieg, who will be based in New York, will be responsible for expanding client outreach and further developing Macquarie’s electronic execution capability. He will report to Damian Hoult, global head of execution services.

Krieg was head of sales at Knight Direct, the institutional electronic trade execution business within Knight Capital Group. He also worked as partner at agency broker EdgeTrade, where he helped build its institutional electronic business and algorithmic trading technology, before its acquisition by Knight Capital in 2008.

His appointment follows Macquarie Securities’ appointment of co-heads of portfolio solutions and a continued expansion of the firm’s equities platform.

“We have steadily grown our footprint and market share in the US by adding relevant capability across our sales and trading efforts on both the high- and low-touch aspects of our business,” Ken Savio, senior managing director and US head of Macquarie Securities, said.

“Macquarie will benefit from Brandon’s experience in partnering with clients to develop differentiated, leading-edge electronic execution products.”

Macquarie Securities, is the institutional equities arm of Macquarie Group, a global provider of banking, financial, advisory, investment and funds management services.
