Orc Software, a provider of derivatives trading technology, has announced that Matlock Capital, a Chicago-based trading firm, has deployed Orc Software’s Liquidator for its equity options market making solution.

"We required a robust solution for market making that integrated well with our internal systems," says Steve Crutchfield, director of operations, Matlock Capital. "In addition, we needed a solution which provided low latency support for penny-priced stocks and strong connections to the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). Orc delivered the best solution to meet our needs," he continues.

Orc Liquidator is a black-box trading system that allows the deployment of custom trading strategies at a processing speed of over 20,000 orders per second with sub-millisecond latency, according to the firm.

Among the custom strategies commonly deployed on Liquidator are options market making, cross market futures spreads, listed spread versus synthetic spread, pairs trading, volatility trades, currency cash and futures arbitrage, and local exchange versus ADR.
