Northland Capital Partners, a UK-based full-service investment bank, has appointed Zeg Choudhry as its new head of sales trading in London.

Choudhry joins the firm from Piper Jaffray, where was head of pan-European sales trading, and will report to head of trading Bernie Leaver. He has also worked at broker Evolution Securities and J.P. Morgan.

“We are delighted that Zeg has joined us to broaden our sales trading capability,” said Leaver. “He brings with him a wealth of experience and deep market knowledge in both UK and European markets.”

The firm has indicated that it will look to add to Choudhry's team in the near future.

Northland Capital Partners, which specialises in corporate advisory and institutional broking services for small and mid-sized companies, was formed last October and is the European arm of Canada-based NCP Northland Capital Partners.

It currently provides corporate advisory services for 40 clients listed on the Alternative Investment Market operated by the London Stock Exchange and has a sales team that provides investment ideas and execution capabilities for institutional investors comprising large traditional buy-side firms.

Sandfire Securities, the holding company for both the Canadian and UK investment bank businesses, also owns Canada-based asset manager Galileo Global Equity Advisors.
