NYSE Arca Europe, the pan-European multilateral trading system operated by exchange group NYSE Euronext, has added a further 334 large and mid-cap stocks, bringing the total number of names in which it offers trading to 794.

Arca offers trading in constituents of 13 leading indices across 11 European markets via NYSE Euronext’s Universal Trading Platform, which claims an average internal roundtrip time of 140 microseconds and the capacity to handle 100,000 orders per second.

“By extending its stock universe, NYSE Arca Europe admits a list of names that more fully reflect the wider European Equities market,” said Robert Barnes, managing director, equities, UBS Investment Bank.

“The extension of our trading offer was developed in close cooperation with our clients,” said Virginie Saade, head of NYSE Arca Europe. “It reflects our ambition to capture the growing interest of the European trading community and to build on the recent success in certain local markets, for example Sweden and Denmark.”

Launched in March 2009, NYSE Arca Europe has more 35 members, including leading sell-side firms and high-frequency traders.
