Carl James has joined Pictet Asset Management as global head of fixed income trading, based in Geneva.
James left his role as global head of fixed income and FX dealing at BNP Paribas Dealing Services in June 2014 to establish a consultancy business, C2 Consulting.
C2 Consulting, assisted asset managers with reviewing their trading process and structure.
The consultancy firm has also been involved in developing new technologies for the asset management industry, as James has been vocal in his interest in digital currencies and block chain encryption.
C2 Consulting successfully completed projects working as a buy-side strategic advisor on Project Neptune.
In his new role, which he started on 1 October 2015, he is responsible for four dealing locations in Geneva, London, Singapore and Hong Kong, according to a person familiar with the matter. James’ team consists of 16 dealers in fixed income and FX.
Pictet Asset Management trades the full spectrum of cash fixed income globally and all FX instruments, also all fixed income and FX ETD and OTC derivatives.
At the end of September 2015, Pictet had assets under management or custody of £292 billion and investments for clients spread over more than 80 countries.
