FIA, with its more than 250 members, is the national trade organisation for the futures industry and reaches market participants all around the world. Inaugurated in 2005 as part of the FIA’s 50th anniversary, the “Futures Hall of Fame” honours outstanding industry leaders.

The reception ceremony took place on March 13th in Boca Raton. John M. Damgard, FIA president, emphasised that honourees were instrumental in leading the path for their firms’ success and thus made a significant contribution to the futures and options industry.

In 1988 Prof. Dr. Franke was appointed CEO of the newly founded German Derivative Exchange (DTB), playing a decisive role in merging the DTB with the Swiss derivatives market Soffex, to form Eurex.
