SocGen appoints Benoit to head up global equity flow

Bruno Benoit has replaced David Escoffier as head of global equity flow at Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking.

Bruno Benoit has replaced David Escoffier as head of global equity flow at Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking (SG CIB).

Escoffier stepped down from the role to become CEO of derivatives brokerage Newedge, a joint venture between Societe Generale and Credit Agricole. Societe Generale is currently in the process of acquiring the 50% of Newedge that it does not already own.

Benoit had been deputy head of global equity flow since 2012. He has worked for the bank since 1992 with a particular focus on derivatives trading.

Peter McGahan will become Benoit’s deputy in addition to his existing role as head of cash equity sales. McGahan joined Societe Generale in 2011 and previously spent 20 years at Citigroup in various roles, including as head of equity product sales and distribution.
