SocGen taps UBS for new European electronic trading head

Mark Goodman has joined Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking as head of electronic services, Europe.

Formerly managing director, Direct Execution (equities) for UBS in London, Goodman will be responsible for coordinating the bank’s electronic services business in Europe including sales, sales trading and trading. In this newly created role, he will also lead the development of new services for institutional investors.

SocGen also announced the appointment of Jason King as electronic sales trader. Most recently a senior buy-side dealer at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, King will service the electronic trading needs of institutional accounts in his new role.

Both will join SocGen’s team of electronic trading specialists based in London.

In 2010 SocGen plans to further enhance its sales trading services, provide consistent capital commitment across all equities, and reinforce its offering in portfolio trading, index and quant services and futures as well as US and Pan-Asian products.
