MiFID II presents many challenges and affects most phases of the trading life cycle. While it appears that the final implementation date will be delayed, we continue to advocate that the delay should focus on extending the “crunch time” – the period following the National Competent Authorities’ (NCA) final guidance and the compliance/implementation date. An extension of this period will provide market participants more time to plan, design and test their systems.
Firms should also seize this opportunity to think strategically and to that end Bloomberg has prepared a comprehensive toolkit, “MiFID II: What to Expect and How to Prepare”.
On the Bloomberg Terminal, MIFI<Go> provides subscribers with everything they need to know about MiFiD II: the timeline, key topics and objectives as well as links to the ESMA and NCA documentation, consolidated in one place. The toolkit is available under “Current Status”.
Against the back drop of the pre-trade, execution and trading, and post-trade operations workflows of how market participants do their business, the toolkit present graphics that illustrate the regulatory challenges, the strategic questions market participants should be asking themselves and how Bloomberg can help.
Type MIFI<Go>, 12<Go> (current status) and select “MiFID II: What to Expect and How to Prepare” to download the toolkit and learn more about MiFID II.
