A spate of senior appointments across diverse business lines have been announced by US-based agency brokerage firms.

Alison Crosthwait joins Instinet as director, global trading research and will take responsibility for the firm's global market infrastructure research and other value added content. Maureen Shankar is moving to ConvergEx's commission management services business, Westminster Research Associates, as senior vice president located in New York. Alisa Carpenter, Alice Fricke and Simon Mandel will take up new positions at Auerbach Grayson, which specialises in international trading for US investors, as senior vice president of global emerging markets sales, vice president of Asian equities and Eastern European, Middle East and Africa team member respectively.

Crosthwait was previously head of research at brokerage firm ITG Canada and has also worked for Goldman Sachs in high-frequency trading and Credit Suisse in programme trading. Prior to joining ConvergEx, Shankar was head of commission management services at Instinet, while Carpenter at Auerbach Grayson previously served as executive director and head of international equity research sales at Morgan Stanley. Fricke has 15 years' experience in international equities, having worked at broker WI Carr and French bank Credit Lyonnais.
