Buy- and sell-side firms will new high-speed options for accessing Japanese markets after software vendors ACTIV and NYSE Technologies launched new solutions at the new Japan Exchange co-location facility.

ACTIV announced this week it will establish a ticker plant at the new co-location facility, offering access to Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) feeds: TSE FLEX Standard; FLEXFull; FLEX Ful (WB); and Tdex+. This joins other ACTIV data feeds from the Osaka Securities Exchange (OSE), SBI Japannext, and Chi-X Japan, which are available alongside the firm’s regional data offering. ACTIV will also be able to offer a consolidated data feed for JPX, which was formed last year after a merger between the TSE and derivatives-focused OSE.

For the buy-side, the ticker plant will streamline data offerings and reduce associated costs, as data can be accessed through links between ACTIV and selected buy-side hosting vendors.

“The new state-of-the-art TSE co-location service will offer higher cooling power, and further reduce latency and cost, compared with the current TSE co-location,” Yoshinori Suzuki, executive vice president and CIO of JPX and senior managing director of TSE, said.

Meanwhile ,the technology arm of market operator NYSE Euronext also announced plans to expand its Japanese connectivity offering through the JPX co-location facility.

From May the firm will offer low-latency trading and market data services for market participants, offering buy- and sell-side firms a complete managed infrastructure solution.

“NYSE Technologies’ commitment to the new JPX co-location space, in addition to the existing Tokyo Liquidity Center, represents the next step in the execution of our managed services and global community strategy,” said Daniel Burgin, head of Asia Pacific, NYSE Technologies. “With professional service level agreements in place, it will offer institutional buy-side customers access to co-located trading and market data infrastructure services in the Japanese markets. Simultaneously, we will offer sell-side participants a cost efficient hosting of infrastructure, client-on boarding, testing and market data replay services.”
