Banca Akros, the investment and private banking arm of the Banca Popolare di Milano Group, has signed a two-year contract with trading technology provider Orc Software to add support for direct market access (DMA) using the Orc Trading execution platform.

Banka Akros is already an Orc client, and uses Orc Trader for proprietary execution.

“Thanks to the scalability of the Orc solution, we are able to increase our DMA services and make our offering more competitive and attractive for professional clients who want to trade on regulated and over-the-counter markets while monitoring the position risks in real time through the Orc workstations,” said Ferrante Zilioli , head of organisation and IT at Banca Akros, in a statement.

Orc Trading allows users to run thousands of trading strategies simultaneously from a single platform. It is used by financial firms worldwide for enhanced trading, pricing and risk management on electronically traded derivatives. The Orc Connect connectivity solution provides traders and brokers with access to liquidity pools, both for market members and non-members, for execution, market data and reference data.
