Investment management solutions provider Charles River has formed a strategic partnership to provide transaction cost analysis (TCA) in its main software suite.

The deal with SJ Levinson & Sons’ TCA services through the Charles River Investment Management Solution (IMS) is intended to help buy-side firms lower trading costs by measuring investment strategies and broker performance effectively in a single system.

Charles River said the service would build on its existing TCA capabilities by embedding analytics to enable greater transparency of the performance of portfolio managers, traders, brokers and venues.

Des Gallacher, vice president, product management at Charles River, said: “By introducing deeply embedded TCA across the workflow, we are able to provide traders and portfolio managers with critical analysis, to help improve investment decisions and ultimately reduce the cost of trading.”

The offering will also incorporate pre- and post-trade analytics, enabling a detailed evaluation of trading costs and trends.

SJ Levinson & Sons’ president, Ethan Levison, said his firms TCA offering provides a high level of granularity across time increments and perspectives, enabling asset managers to make more informed trading decisions and maximise their alpha.
