The Tokyo Stock Exchange is to add MF Global FXA Securities to its market as a general trading participant, from 1 February 2011.

MF Global FXA Securities, a subsidiary of worldwide financial services firm MF Global Holdings, is a broker that provides services for a range of products including cash equities, derivatives, FX and commodities.

The exchange has stated that it hopes the participation of MF Global in the market will contribute to “deeper liquidity and increase convenience” for its customers.

The TSE has undertaken a number of initiatives to improve liquidity in recent months, including the introduction of a remote membership scheme for Hong Kong-based broker-dealers to trade directly in Japan for the first time, in November 2010.
