Automated trading software company 4th Story has released 4S Blue Ridge, an algorithmic trading server.

The product will be targeted at brokers and other institutions who manage order flow, and 4th Story hopes it will ease the development and integration of custom execution and order routing algorithms from a technical and economical perspective.

“The demand for this product was from sell-side firms looking for a competitive advantage by adding sophisticated algorithmic execution capability” said Steven Smith, CEO of 4th Story, in a statement.

4S Blue Ridge will be able to host standard execution strategies such as VWAP, pegged orders, volume participation and pairs/multi-leg management as well as being able to handle smart order routing to help maximise efficiency and meet MiFID and Reg NMS regulatory requirements.

The system can also be loosely coupled via FIX for both incoming and outgoing order flow, or tightly coupled and embedded in an internal OMS through its adapter architecture.
