Mirabaud Securities overhauls equities team in Asia

Mirabaud Securities appoints new head of Asian equities as it looks to strengthen the team.

Mirabaud Securities has named a new head of Asian equities alongside several other senior appointments, as it looks to strengthen its coverage of the market.

Michael Collett - previously head of sales trading for Asia at Jefferies - is joining Mirabaud as head of Asian equities.

Collett has over 22 years experience and has held senior positions at Bank of America Merrill lynch, Lehman Brothers and CLSA.

Eddie Jones is joining Collett as head of Asian sales trading, having also previously worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Societe Generale.

Mirabaud has also appointed Robert Chandler and Richard Sharp as senior sales traders, both of whom have extensive experience of trading Asia markets.

Jason Rand, global head of trading at Mirabaud Securities, explained the changes to the equities team reflects the firm’s “commitment to both the region and to providing clients with comprehensive specialist coverage of a major investment market.

“We see significant opportunities in Asia and believe Michael Collett and his team, with their extensive on-the-ground experience and history of developing long term client relationships, will be invaluable as we seek to grow our presence in the region.”

Collett added: “Mirabaud’s long history of specialising in areas where it can truly add value offers an extremely attractive proposition in a highly competitive brokerage market.”
