JP Morgan’s head of high-touch trading departs for BTIG

Corey Popham worked within the investment bank’s global equities team for more than a decade.

The head of high-touch trading for the Americas within the global equities team at JP Morgan has departed for a role at broker BTIG.

Corey Popham has joined BTIG as head of US cash equities in New York, having worked at JP Morgan for over a decade.

He has almost 20 years’ experience in financial services and, prior to his time at the US investment bank, Popham was a director within the equity trading group at Credit Suisse where he began as an analyst in 1999.

He will be tasked with developing, marketing and evolving the US cash equities service at BTIG, working closely with the capital markets, research and sales and trading teams to generate new business.

Popham will report to head of global equities at BTIG, Richard Blank, who described him as a ‘highly-effective leader’.

“His proven management experience and unique client relationships will strengthen our equity platform,” Blank added.
