ABN Amro Clearing reshuffles US leadership

Andrej Bolkovic will lead the Dutch bank's US operations, replacing industry veteran John Ruth.

ABN Amro Clearing has appointed a new chief executive of its Chicago-based operations, following the departure of industry veteran John Ruth.

Andrej Bolkovic took up the role of CEO of ABN Amro Clearing Chicago at the end of June. He was previously global chief operations officer of ABN Amro Clearing Bank in Amsterdam, a role he had held since February 2015.

Bolkovic joined the bank in 2007 as chief information officer for seven years. He then became global head of product management, as well as being appointed as a non-executive director for ICE Clear Netherlands.

His appointment followed the decision by its previous CEO, Ruth, to step down in May after running the Chicago-based business for three years.

Prior to joining the Dutch bank in 2013, he was a managing director for execution and clearing and a branch manager for Goldman Sachs’ Chicago office.

Ruth began his career as an independent floor trader on the Chicago Board of Trade. In 2000 he founded Century Group Trading, a Chicago-based commodities brokerage.
